Fire proof safes, marked with Underwriter's Laboratories (UL) fire resistant authentication, protect inside contents against fire destruction, and extreme temperature shocks. The UL classifies fire proof safes in accordance to how long they maintain internal temperature below 392°F, or rather 200°C, while being exposed to a strong heat source for 30 minutes, one hour, two hours, and even four hours. Special fire proof data safes are designed to secure digital and magnetic data supports against magnetic, electrical and fire emergencies, by sustaining internal temperature below 52°C, above this temperature is the point of data support destruction.
